The Danish Women's National Team has played it's final game in the 2009 World Cup in Prague.

The Danish women beat South Korea 17-3, and secured the 15th place it the tournament.

The team has played 7 games in just 9 days, including the tournament opening game against Austria, which Denmark lost 16-7. Another group game followed against the Haudenosaunee. Losing this game 2-16 meant that the Danes were to face the Netherlands and South Korea in a mini league.

The first game of the mini league was another loss, 4-18 against the Netherlands, but the second game gave Denmark the first win of the tournament, when South Korea was beat 15-2.

This meant that the Danes were up against Germany. Beating the Germans would allow Denmark to play for positions 9 through 12, while loosing would mean playing for positions 13 through 16. Unfortunately the Germans proved too strong and took away a 24-1 victory.

This left the Danish women with a chance for revenge against Austria. With a score of 7-7 at half time the Austrians came out strong and took the lead. But the Danes never gave up and fought for a come back. They almost caught up, but at 10-9 the Danish team ran out of time.

The seventh and final game of the tournament was a rematch against South Korea. Like in the first match Denmark took home a secure win, this time 17-3.

The World Cup final between defending champions Australia and USA will be played tomorrow, Saturday 27/6 at 15:00.
